Hugh Dunford-Wood

Dorset-based Hugh Dunford-Wood has worked as an artist-designer since his student days at Oxford’s Ruskin School of Art in the 1970s. As well as painting portraits and landscapes, he has also designed crockery, jewellery, prints,  furnishing fabrics and wallpaper. He is a member of MAKE Southwest (formerly known as the Devon Guild of Craftsmen), a visiting tutor at West Dean College and has been a guest lecturer at the Open University of the Arts.

Hugh is renowned for his distinctive and intricate linoprints – a printing technique using a linoleum block to create a carved design in relief, from which multiple prints can be made; he describes his prints as “bold and direct”. His linoprint for Modern Art Distillery is titled ’The Spirit of Lyme Regis’ and celebrates the iconic Cobb at Lyme Regis; it is available to purchase as a limited edition signed print (75 prints).
